Gender based violence prevention
Gender based violence is a development issue because it affects everyone on all levels and in all spheres of life. ADI is committed to ensure its staff and those that it serve, live a life, free from all forms of violence.
Enhancing SGBV Prevention & Response in PNG

In line with its twin-track approach to addressing harmful gender norms, roles and relations and exclusionary practices, ADI takes a twin-track approach in its gender-based violence program ensuring that both prevention and response interventions are supported to address the high prevalent rate in PNG.
ADI through its TROPHE project, funded by the World Gold Council, has two main objectives of:
- Improving access to proper care and support services for survivors of SGBV through capacity building of health workers, development of district referral pathway, and refurbishment and establishment of support space at the Namatanai District Hospital.
- Increasing health seeking behaviour and access to sexual reproductive health education and services for students in Namatanai and Lihir Secondary schools.
